Being one of the oldest wine producing countries in the history of human existence, Italy has practically become synonymous with good food, and more importantly, good wine. With over 1 million vineyards spread across the country, Italy has overtaken its rival France as the largest wine producer in the entire world.

 

The Italian system of classification splits their wines into 4 categories, two of which are ruled by the European Union's "Quality Wines Produced in a Specific Region" (QWSPR), and two ruled by "Vino de Tavola" (Table Wine), simply wines produced in Italy.
