Australia is the world's 4th largest producer of wine, with over 60 individual wine regions across the continent. Most of these are located in the cooler, southern areas of Australia. With such a huge range of production, it is hard to pin down a few "Australian specialty" varietals, with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc all being grown in the country. |
