Barbaresco “Il Bricco” is produced from grapes from the Il Bricco vineyard in the Barbaresco zone located in the commune of Treiso. Unlike the Barolo zone that can be divided by differing soil types, Barbaresco’s soils are uniform, with the best sites being marked by their exposure to the sun. The 18 Hectare (45 acre) Il Bricco (meaning ”hilltop” or ”peak”) Estate is one of the highest vineyard sites in the Barbaresco zone. Vines extend from top to bottom in horizontal rows, and are on a pitch that allows for maximum drainage, while the southern exposure assures maximum ripeness.
