Varietally distinct, this Zinfandel captures the true essence of Alexander Valley. The fruit is sourced from a variety of vineyards with differing microclimates. This provides the winery with an array of unique parcels of fruit. Once vinified, these parcels are blended together and then allowed to mature in French and American oak for 10 months. Further complexity is achieved by the addition of small amounts of Sangiovese and Syrah.

Blood red color. Offers understated aromas of blackberry, brambles, vines, green tea leaves. Pleasingly round, moderately tannic flavors include blackberry, black cherry, raspberry preserves. Not a fierce Zin, but one that’s gentlemanly and reserved. Hamburger-land for this one.

Slightly less concentrated and savory, but still meritorious is the 2012 Sin Zin, a broad, round, juicy Zinfandel revealing lots of briery, brambleberry fruit, good pepper and spice, soft tannins and 14.7% alcohol. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
